Review and Win

This initiative was birthed from our own work culture here at Satayaa which is a culture of reading books and reviewing them at the end of each month. It is at the heart of Satayaa that an appreciation for literature is rekindled in the heart of many. We hope that as you participate in this competition it will not only be a way to win prizes but you might come to appreciate reading and share in the joy that is found within books.

GUIDELINES

Here are the guidelines for writing the review, we employ you to please adhere to them because all submissions will be evaluated based on them:

  • To download the book - 'Flowers for Chike' click here. 

  • All submissions should not be more than 800 words.

  • Font style should be Times New Roman and font size 14, with 0.15 line spacing.

  • Submissions must have an introductory paragraph which should contain the writer’s name, location, and IG handle.

  • Your submission must be well-written in English, grammatically correct, and must have correct spelling and punctuation.

  • One submission per person, anyone who submits more than one review will be automatically disqualified. 

  • Your review must be engaging, helpful, and informative.

  • Satayaa Africa Foundation reserves the right to publish your review on our website.

  • It is important to emphasize that a book review is different from a summary and any submission that falls short of the standard of a review will be automatically disqualified.

  • We would like to warn against impersonation and plagiarism. 

  • Any AI-generated submission will be disqualified.

  • The review competition is open to any and everyone except the participants of the ongoing SAFACS competition.

  • Submissions are to be sent to review.satayaa@gmail.com. Any improper or unaddressed mail will not be acknowledged. Please ensure to address the mail properly.

  • Submission starts on the 22nd of February and ends on the 4th of March, 2024.
