About the Scroll

It is the dream of many writers to become renowned. However, some find it difficult to navigate the ‘deep waters’ that lead to publishing, and the major issue is, they view it from a limited point of view, which gives them limited options. Thus, it is not rare to find writers with a lot of beautiful short stories (between 300 - 5000 words) sleeping on their laptops.

Do you know why?

  • They are not sure if the stories are ‘publish-able’

  • Cold feet hinged on ‘how would people react to their story?’

  • Conflicted thoughts and the big question - Who would read it?

Most of the renowned writers you know today, started by publishing short stories on various platforms, the chiefest of them being online magazines like - the New Yorker, Brittle Paper, and so on. When your story or work goes on these platforms, voila! You become a published author plus it boosts your confidence as a writer!

Satayaa Africa Foundation has created a platform called ‘The Scroll’, which is the first e-magazine in Africa focused on Christian fiction, biographies, memoirs, and poetry. We are on a mission to use the art of reading and writing to spread the love of Christ. Satayaa is vested in the growth of Christian scribes in Africa, to the extent that they grow in learning to write the heart of Father God and exhibit excellence as they write.

‘The Scroll’ offers you the opportunity to have your work edited by our seasoned editors, get constructive feedback and your work stands the chance of getting published on our platform too.

“Writing is like sewing dresses, you do not know what you did better in the next dress, but it is always better than the first”

- Adesuwa Ehinome Iluobe, Secretary General Satayaa Africa Foundation
