It's Time to Dance

ree

Have you ever been to an Owambe before? One of the most exciting parts of an Owambe is the music and dance. When the live band mounts the microphone, their sonorous voices, the harmonized instrumentals, and chiefest of all, the gangan is potent enough to send the guests into a dancing spree. While some are bold dancers who dig it on the dance floor, others are chair dancers, and on their seats, they sway and move to the music. Some others are more conservative dancers who bob their heads, wriggle their arms, and shake their legs to the music. What type of dancer are you?

One thing is common to the conservative dancer, the chair dancer, and the ‘life of the party’ dancer… JOY! It is unmistakable. It is unusual to find a grumpy face in such an environment. The music would lift your spirit even if you were sad before that time.

Guess what? Abba is throwing a party for us this month! Party lovers like me are super excited already! It is a month to be joyful and celebrate.

The young women will dance for joy, and the men—old and young—will join in the celebration. I will turn their mourning into joy. I will comfort them and exchange their sorrow for rejoicing. The priests will enjoy abundance, and my people will feast on my good gifts. Jeremiah 31:13-14 NLT

Everything around us may be the opposite, but we have power over our response to situations. It is faith to stay joyful in the face of pain, inadequacy, uncertainties, and fear. Such an act of undaunted faith in God births possibilities far beyond our imagination. Afraid? Worried? Anxious? Get a wonderful playlist of songs from YouTube, apple music, Anchor FM, and other music channels, and dance for joy! Choose joy this month and beyond. I look forward to reading your joyful testimonies.

Listen to Joy Overflow by Joe Praise to get your groove on.

Cheers,

Ishioma.
