SAFACS 2023 ENTRY 25
“Dennis!”
I knew the voice. Daddy is around. I jumped out of my bed in excitement to open the door. I did not know that Mummy was with him.
“Mummy!
“We missed you so much, Son” Mummy hugged me in a warm embrace “I missed you too Mummy. I have submitted my annual leave letter for this year. I will be celebrating my 25th birthday with you!”
“My son is coming home, I cannot wait.” Daddy smiled.
I burst into tears seeing the way I am loved.
“Can you tell me that story again?” I requested.
Daddy sighed!
August 11, 1998.
I received a letter of transfer from my work to a State I have never been before. I was confused, I didn’t know how to present it to Margaret.
“Magaret also has her own life to live.”
I whispered silently to God in prayers. Lead me Lord.
My ways are dif erent from yours. Go!
I heaved a sigh of relief. It is a mission. I was shocked by the time I got home, Margaret had arranged our luggages.
“We are leaving, aren’t we?” She smiled.
“Yes, dear. I am sor…”
“Don’t be. I know.” she smiled.
I could never be so grateful to have a supportive partner.
August 15, 1998
Magaret narrated her vision to me. “We are adopting a baby!”
The next morning, we got to the Orphanage home and had a conversation with the Director.
She showed us all the babies but Margaret disagreed.
“These are healthy babies. The others are in sick bay, I don’t know if you would like to see them.” she said.
“Yes, I would love to.” Magaret replied.
As we got there, one of the babies kicked his leg in excitement. He drew our attention.
“Marcus, this is Dennis, the boy from the dream.” She smiled.
“Are you sure?” I asked.
“I have the Spirit of Christ.” She replied.
“I am still surprised when you said You were instructed to adopt Dennis because he has suffered several rejections from parents. He is not healthy” The Nurse said.
“This baby here is adopted and loved! He is a bundle of Joy.” Margaret replied as she held him in her arms.
We did the necessary process for adoption and you became ours. I knew God has plans for you and He used your story to explain our journey to newness. There are days we hold you and just shed tears of gratitude for Christ’s work on the cross. It's a been journey of Faith.
“Therefore remember that formerly you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called the “uncircumcision” by the so-called “circumcision” in the flesh by human hands, were at that time apart from Christ, alienated from the citizenship of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, without hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus who were formerly far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ. (Ephesians 2vs11-13 MEV)

My review on *The Adoption*
This post perfectly describes the beauty of God's love and His intentionality in the adoption of the rejected. I personally like how it is written with much creativity and imagination, insightfully depicting a Christian's story and journey into the family of God.
A lesson learnt is that, it is good for couples to be spirit-filled and spiritually aligned.
However, I'm most pleased with how it reveals the manifold wisdom of God in working things out, especially as it much reveals God's good intentions for the adopted child. It's beautiful and inspiring.
Good work ma
Thank you for reminding us about our newness in Christ.
So beautiful!
Love the story.👍
As a children teacher, it'd be a good way to tell the redemption and adoption story, of God towards mankind.
Well done Omoyemi! More Divine inspiration to you.
Love, Tolu.
Great story, Welldone
